Transmission

Workshops with Mauro Carraro bring drawing, handwriting and material tests into direct experience, through close observation and making.

A living practice

Observe, draw, explore.

Look at the structure of a watch, the grain of paper and the behaviour of ink. Explore the line through drawing and handwriting, alongside the prepared materials of the Studio.

01 / Observe

Observe

Look slowly: at the architecture of a watch, the grain of paper, the behaviour of ink and the decisions held inside a single line.

02 / Make

Make

Work through drawing, handwriting and material tests. Historic processes are approached as living knowledge, re-read through a contemporary practice.

03 / Carry forward

Carry forward

Leave with a sharper eye and a felt understanding of the gesture: not a formula to repeat, but a language to continue exploring.

The portable atelier

Tools, material and attention travel together.

For selected encounters, Mauro works with a bespoke portable atelier: writing instruments, blue ink, brushes, papers and carefully prepared materials arranged to make the studio’s practice tangible in a new place.
