The live practice
An artistic presence, not an animation.
Each event begins with a room, the people in it and an object or story that deserves attention. Based in Geneva, Mauro Carraro creates live portraits, original drawings and workshops for Maison events, hotels and private gatherings. The studio works live to make an encounter tangible, then leaves a trace that can remain beyond the evening.
The room
A line changes when it is made in front of someone.
Blue ink, handwriting, paper and gold leaf turn observation into a shared gesture. The format is shaped for the occasion: quietly, carefully and in dialogue with its setting.
Live portrait
A guest is drawn in real time, creating a portrait that remains personal beyond the occasion. For jewellery events, guests may wear a piece from the collection as they sit: the portrait records the person, the jewel and the way it is worn.
Live artwork
An original drawing develops in the room: a watch, an interior, an anniversary or a house’s visual memory.
Workshop
Tools and material language are shared through a guided studio encounter, close to the hand and the page.
What remains
An artwork, a gift, a set of images or a printed object extends the encounter after the room has changed.
A selected encounter: live portraits at Montblanc’s 100 Years of Meisterstück evening in Geneva.
When you enquire, include the date, location and setting, and whether you have live portraits, an original artwork or a workshop in mind.
